Shachindra Dass | Born – 1970. Lives in Helsinki.
Born in India Shachindra Dass is a Finnish artist who has worked with a variety of mediums including video, animation, photography and illustrations. In environmental art exhibitions he has worked with sculptures and art installations. His video art has been in many international film and video art festivals.
Shachindra derives his art inspiration from nature, human behaviour and interaction between humans and nature. He explores his subjects from psychological perspective. His art seeks understanding towards fair representation of all species on earth.

Intiasta lähtöisin oleva helsinkiläinen kuvataiteilija Shachindra Dass on tehnyt taidetta monialaisesti käyttäen tekniikoinaan animaatiota, videota, valokuvausta ja kuvitusta. Ympäristötaiteen tapahtumissa esillä on ollut myös veistoksia ja installaatioita. Hänen videoteoksiaan on esitetty monilla kansainvälisillä elokuva-ja videotaiteen festivaaleilla.
Taiteen tekemisen mielenkiinnon ja havainnon kohteina ovat luonto, ihmisten välinen vuorovaikutus ja ihmisen käyttäytyminen suhteessa luontoon. Shachindra tutkii aiheitaan myös psykologisesta näkökulmasta.Taiteessaan hän pyrkii ymmärtämään eri elollisten olemusten ilmentymiä tällä planeetalla.

Visual Communication Designer, graduated from National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, India. Specialisation in Animation Film Design, Graphic Design and Video.
